Won't work in WoW

When I download a WoW addon(not via curse client.), I add it to my WoW Addon folder. As far as I know, doing that is correct becuase it works for Questhelper. But now, my problem is that if I download another WoW addon, and do the same thing, it does not pop up when I log in. I'm not sure how to get all of my addons to work at the same time, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks.
