Curse Client - How to use?

Hi.

I have the curse client installed for awhile now. I just stopped playing and when I came back, I was hoping that the client would update all of the mods that I have.

It doesn't seem to do this. Am I doing something wrong? I can't even get it to tell me whether or not my mods are out of date. I thought I might be able to right click a mod in the list and say "update" but it doesn't seem to work that way either.

Am I doing something wrong or is this the intended functionality? If I'm doing something wrong, could someone help?

Thanks in advance,
Joe

I am sort of wondering the same thing myself. Does it automatically update mods, or what?

Same, there doesn't seem to be an option to update manually or automatically.

Try restart the client and it should auto update itself.

It seems like it updated. Thanks.
Should be a feature to check for updates automatically every so often, though and not just when you first run the client.

Mine does not auto update at all. It tells me there are updates and I click on it like it says. It sends me to to curse.com. What am I doing wrong? How do I set it to auto-update?

It should auto update itself after some time.

This app is a serious bummer. I don't want an app that updates... after some time. I want to press a button like in other auto-downloaders and have it fetch my addons. I want to know when it has completed the task. Here's the reason: I wait to start WoW until I know I have the latest addons updates. Curse client gives me no indication when the operation is complete - I have no idea when the latest files are on my system so I can start WoW with the latest.

Why not?

Please add an Update Now function which will notify me when it is done.

I agree, the app is very poorly written in general. There is no true user control as well as no real way to manage add-ons better. UI central updater is written in JAVA and even it has more basic controls than the curse updater. Not to mention the fact that there is no inidication as to why my characters are not showing up. I also know that when I do look at the list of add-ons, not all of them are there by far.
The curse updater in short is a piece of crap and I find the wowace updater from http://www.wowace.com better as well as the one from http://wowui.worldofwar.net/
I would certainly hope that with all the downtime curse had, that they would have updated their updater by now.

Wow, i'm not crazy. I can't for the life of me figure what it's doing......if anything. Uninstall seems like the only reasonable thing to do at this point.
