Curse Client not installing addons?
So here's what's happening.
Steps to reproduce.
1. Open Client (Debug).
2. Minimize the main window so that only task bar icon shows.
3. Click on any Addon to install via Curse Client.
4. Progress will show that it is installing (but doesn't actually show installing to addons).
5. Open Client main window.
6. Addon will show in Currently Installed Packages.
7. Click thru info to Exclusive resourse -> Directories and match that in Windows Explorer
8. No such directory would exist.
9. In the main window uninstall the addon.
10. Keep the main window open this time.
11. Install addon via Curse Client again.
12. This time you will notice new progress meters (installing to addons/downloading addons etc)
13. Repeat step 7 above.
14. This time it will exist.
It seems that the client only works to install packages when the main window is actually open *ie. you are currently looking at the list of currently installed packages.
This is 100% reproducible for me on a Windows Vista Ultimate for me.
Hey everyone,
Status update: http://blogs.curse.com/25/details/666/
I have done what you said... But when i click on Install via Curse client, a page comes up and says The Webpage Cannot Be Displayed...so i tried again and it just tried to load the page..and nothing happened....So i tried to download an addon with a mirror and it downloaded yet it doesnt show up in the package subscription window nor in my Warcraft Addons. Is there a specific place to download the Curse Client? I saved it in programfies/ worldofwarcrat/interface/addons.. Any suggestions?
In order to fix this on the fly you have to uninstall the package and then install it again. Since I wasn't sure if it actually deletes my addon settings I didn't wanna risk that so I simply uninstalled curse client and installed it again. Since the everything is working fine more or less, I now have some ghost packages showing up, but they are not installed and when I uninstall them it gives "directory not found... blabla..." but after client restart they appear again. Minor issue imho, but still hope you guys fix it, soon :)

chengtI'm running the curse client on a Vista machine.
When I install a package using the client it shows up in my Currently Installed Packages directory but it doesn't actually install it.
I look in interface/addons and its not there and doing a search on the computer doesn't show it anywhere (not even in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\CurseClient).
Does anyone know how to get this working? I've tried enabling permissions on it but it doesn't seem to have any effect.
