Curse Client and Privacy

I'd advise that you make a statement on your client page indicating that you will respect privacy of users while collecting data. Everybody is hype on privacy violations going around the world including a third party application that collects data.

  • Did it collect your bank online account numbers, passwords, and secret questions while it was running?
  • Did it collect your WoW and other site passwords you typed while it was running?

People like myself are wary about running ANY application like MSN Messenger or Yahoo Messenger or even Curse Client that collects data, trojan or not, and may not even run this application without a proven statement.

Privacy issues will always be a concern. It's very hard to address them completely. There will always have to be a certain degree of trust between us and our users. I fully expect all our users to drop our product if we violate this trust therefore it will always be something that is very important for us.
